What is counselling?
At its core, counselling is one person truly listening to another — a simple act, yet one that holds the potential for profound change.
I believe counselling can support people in getting to know themselves more deeply, uncovering the answers they’ve been searching for, and moving toward a more fulfilling life.
A core element of this work is the therapeutic relationship itself — the connection between counsellor and client. This relationship is not just the foundation, but often the catalyst for healing and growth. It offers a secure, trusting space where you can be truly seen and heard. In the safety of this connection, we can begin to make sense of difficult feelings, recognise old patterns, and experiment with new ways of being.
What is integrative counselling?
From an integrative perspective, counselling brings together different psychological theories and approaches to best support your unique needs. Rather than fitting you into a fixed model, integrative counselling recognises that no one method works for everyone. Instead, it draws from a range of traditions — including humanistic, psychodynamic, existential, cognitive, and behavioural — to tailor a way of working that feels authentic, respectful, and responsive to where you are right now.
